Teamfight Tactics Comps Guide – 5 of the Best TFT Builds for Patch 9.16

There are currently 51 different Teamfight Tactics champions available right now. With abilities, origins, classes, and items to consider, it can be hard to know how strong each one is. And that doesn’t even consider the fact that how you combine the various champions is equally as important. Our Teamfight Tactics comps guide will run down some of the best team builds available!

The Teamfight Tactics meta is changing pretty rapidly as Riot continues to release frequent balance updates for the game. We’ll do our best to keep this guide up to date, but as a whole, it exists mostly to give new players some idea of solid team builds.

Thanks to Mobalytics and Blitz for being awesome sources of information!

Pirate Gunslingers

A lot of the playerbase is currently exploring hyper carry Jinx and this is about the greediest team comp possible. We’ll update this guide with details as things change.

In the end, your team comp should look like: Camille, Gangplank, Graves, Jinx, Lucian, Miss Fortune, Tristana

With this group you’ll get the following buffs:

  • 6 Gunslingers: 50% chance to attack three additional targets in range.
  • 3 Pirates: You earn up to 4 additional gold from each PVP round. Average gold per chest is 1.75 gold.
  • 3 Blademasters (If Jinx has BORK): Blademaster units have a 35% chance on hit to attack one extra time.
  • 2 Hextech: Throw a bomb at an enemy unit with an item, and disables all items in a 2 hex radius for 8 seconds.

Recommended Items:

  • Jinx: Blade of the Ruined King (Spatula + Recurve), Rapid Firecannon (Recurve + Recurve), Hextech Gunblade (BF Sword + Needless)

Hextech Brawlers

Despite the buffs to Morellonomicon and Red Buff, this beef cake team comp still does tremendously well. Because Vi is both a Brawler and Hextech, we prefer running Jinx over Draven, the other hyper carry. We’ll update this guide with details as things change.

In the end, your team comp should look like: Blitzcrank, Cho’Gath, Jinx, Rek’Sai, Vi, Volibear, Warwick.

With this group you’ll get the following buffs:

  • 6 Brawlers: +1000 bonus health to Brawlers.
  • 2 Hextech: Throw a bomb at an enemy unit with an item, and disables all items in a 2 hex radius for 8 seconds.
  • 1 Robot: Robots start combat with full mana.

Recommended Items:

  • Jinx: Rapid Firecannon (Recurve + Recurve), Hextech Gunblade (BF Sword + Needless), Infinity Edge (BF Sword + BF Sword)

Noble Gunslingers

Nobles are super popular right now and there are two different routes you can go with them: Blademasters and Draven or Gunslingers and Jinx. This is the latter!

In the end, your team comp should look like: Fiora, Garen, Jinx, Kayle, Leona, Lucian, Vayne.

With this group you’ll get the following buffs:

  • 6 Nobles: +70 Armor and Magic Resist and heal for 35 HP on hit for the entire team.
  • 2 Knights: Your team ignores 15 damage from all sources.
  • 2 Gunslingers: 50% chance to attack one additional target in range.

Recommended Items:

  • Jinx: Rapid Firecannon (Recurve + Recurve), Runaan’s Hurricane (Recurve + Spatula), Bloodthirster (BF Sword + Negatron)

  • Gangplank: Guardian Angel (BF Sword + Chain Vest), Hush (Negatron + Tear), Red Buff (Chain Vest + Giant’s Belt)

Imperial Knights

Tanky comps continue to be very good. This one relies on that combined with the super powerful Kayle and Swain to carry the game. Varus will keep you afloat while you search for the two five star champions.

In the end, your team comp should look like: Darius, Garen, Kayle, Poppy, Sejuani, Swain, Varus, Vayne.

With this group you’ll get the following buffs:
